There are two (2) kinds of annulments
Did you know? There are "formal annulments" and.........not formal.
When the dreaded word “annulment” comes up, the reaction to it is typically negative. The word conjures up a lengthy bureaucratic process in the Church, the application of “merely man-made” laws, a lack of mercy, and other such things. There are also the “urban legends” to be sure, as I have recounted in previous posts — the mistaken idea that a declaration of matrimonial nullity makes the children retroactively illegitimate, or that you will be forced to see the other party in court, or that the process costs a fortune and takes ten years, or that all cases have to go to the Pope, etc.
